Before the Course

Strengths: I started the course with a solid foundation in overall technology use, indicating confidence and familiarity with digital tools in general. I had a strong awareness of digital citizenship principles, suggesting I understood how to act responsibly and ethically online. I show an initial strength in using technology to support student learning and provide flexible, personalized learning experiences.

Improvements: I initially lacked confidence in inspiring others or modeling effective technology use within professional practice. I was still developing skills in designing authentic, learner-driven activities using technology. I had a beginning-level ability in using data from technology tools to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.

End of Semester

Strengths: My strong technology skills improved even further, showing a high level of competence with a wide range of digital tools for teaching and learning. A significant jump from 8 to 17 shows strong growth in responsible and ethical use of technology, digital safety, and helping students navigate the digital world thoughtfully. I became highly effective at using technology to collaborate with colleagues, students, and the community, enhancing shared learning experiences.

Improvements: I made major progress in becoming a tech leader, gaining confidence in advocating for digital tools and modeling effective technology integration. I doubled my score, indicating you became much more effective at using technology to support student agency, choice, and voice in learning. I improved in my ability to use data from technology to drive instructional decisions and personalize learning based on student needs.

After the Course

Now that I've improved significantly in the ISTE Leader domain, I aim to take on mentorship or leadership roles. Goal: Lead a professional development session or mentor a colleague in using digital tools for instruction. Continue to grow in the ISTE Designer role by exploring new tech tools that promote creativity and student agency. Goal: Create a unit that incorporates choice-based digital projects aligned to learning targets and UDL principles. I've shown growth in using data, but I can push further by integrating data-informed decision-making into everyday practice. Goal: Develop a system for collecting, analyzing, and responding to student learning data weekly using digital tools.
